The Business Aspect of the Music Industry

Join Joleen Hughes, an experienced business and entertainment attorney as she provides an oversight on music licensing and tips on branding yourself and/or your band. Time will be reserved at the end for questions from participants to clarify or debunk myths about the music industry.

Prior to becoming an attorney and owning an operating her own firm, Joleen owned a successful artist management and production company during the height of the 90’s Seattle music explosion working with legends like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. She also ran the legendary RKCNDY nightclub and promoted live events all over the Seattle area. Joleen also served as Senior Counsel to a media/technology company that invented streaming media and she was one of the first lawyer who created business models which brought media to consumers in online and mobile platforms. Today Joleen helps entrepreneurs navigate forming and structuring their businesses and helps established businesses grow and form strategic relationships.
